Sure, we’re always happy to welcome new members.

Our members come from all age groups and a wide variety of professions. In addition to our current students, many alumni of Wismar University are also active in the club.

No, unlike most other sailing clubs, we don’t have mandatory hours.

However, we do have a kind of bonus system to reward hours of work.

Since we cannot fully cover the ongoing costs for fuel, supplies, repairs, and the boats’ general fixed expenses with our sponsors and membership fees, we charge a small flat fee for day trips or overnight trips with the Wings of Wismar. But don’t worry—the costs are really quite reasonable.

Our sailing and training boat, the Seebreeze, is available to all members completely free of charge.

Not quite convinced yet?

If you’re interested in joining the club but would like to get to know us and the boats first, why not come along for a short sail on the “Wings of Wismar”?

This will give you a chance to see if sailing is something for you and if you’d like to do more. Never sailed before? No problem—no prior experience is necessary. We’ll explain the basics to you on board and out on the water.

During the winter (November–March), you can meet us in person at our weekly get-together on Wednesday evenings starting at 8:00 p.m. at the “KaiBar” in the Old Harbor.

We look forward to seeing you!
